About Moss Bluff Recreation
Moss Bluff Recreation, officially Community Center and Playground District No. 4 of Ward 1, provides and maintains recreational facilities and opportunities for the Moss Bluff community. Our facilities support youth sports, recreation, senior activities, community events, and other activities for residents of all ages.
Moss Bluff Recreation is governed by a Board of Commissioners responsible for oversight of the District, including its budget, facilities, policies, and long-term planning.
Current Board members and contact information are available on our website. Residents are encouraged to contact us with questions, concerns, or suggestions.
Yes. Moss Bluff Recreation Board meetings are open to the public in accordance with Louisiana’s Open Meetings Law.
Regular meetings are typically held on the third Monday of each month. Meeting notices, agendas and minutes are available on our website.
Parks & Facilites
Moss Bluff Recreation provides a variety of recreational facilities and amenities, including baseball and softball fields, football and soccer fields, pickleball courts, playgrounds, a walking track, basketball court, community spaces, and more.
Our parks and outdoor recreational facilities are generally available for community use during regular operating hours unless they are reserved for leagues, tournaments, maintenance, or special events.
Facility availability may vary based on scheduled activities, reservations, maintenance, and special events.

Rentals, parites & events
Several Moss Bluff Recreation facilities are available for rentals, parties, sporting events, and other activities. Availability varies by facility and date.

Rental rates and requirements vary based on the facility, length of rental, and type of event. Some reservations may require a deposit.
Our staff can provide current pricing and explain applicable rules, deposit requirements, and cancellation policies before you make a reservation.
Yes. Many of our facilities can accommodate private and community events. Larger events, tournaments, fundraisers, vendors, or special activities may require additional approval or arrangements.

Youth sports & leagues
Moss Bluff Recreation facilities host several youth sports programs, including baseball, softball, football, soccer, cheer, and Buddy Ball.
Registration dates, age requirements, fees, and schedules vary by league. Links to current League information and registration are available on our website and Facebook page.
Moss Bluff Recreation manages, maintains, and oversees the District’s recreational facilities and park operations.
Individual sports leagues are separate organizations responsible for administering and operating their respective sports programs. These responsibilities generally include player registration, team assignments, coaches, schedules, and league activities.
Because the Recreation District and individual sports leagues have separate responsibilities, Moss Bluff Recreation staff can help direct you to the appropriate league or organization if you are unsure who to contact.
Questions about player registration, team assignments, coaches, game schedules, registration fees, or other league-specific matters should be directed to the appropriate sports League.
weather, closures & safety
Field and facility closures may be necessary because of rainfall, standing water, unsafe field conditions, or the potential for damage to the facility.
Our goal is to protect the safety of participants and visitors while preserving our fields and facilities for future use.
Updates regarding park and field closures are posted on our Facebook page and website. Individual sports leagues may also communicate game or practice cancellations directly to their participants.

For non-emergency safety concerns, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues, contact the Moss Bluff Recreation office at 337-905-0211. Please provide the location and as much information as possible so we can address the issue promptly.
improvements & future plans
Moss Bluff Recreation continues to invest in maintaining and improving facilities throughout the District. Recent and current projects include repairs, renovations, facility upgrades, and recreational improvements.

The Board considers several factors when prioritizing projects, including safety, the condition of existing facilities, community needs, facility usage, available funding, long-term maintenance costs, and the overall benefit to the District.
The Board works to balance immediate needs with long-term improvements while making responsible use of available resources.
We welcome ideas and suggestions from residents. Feedback can be submitted through our website, shared with staff, or presented to the Board during a public meeting.
While not every request can be completed immediately, community input helps the Board better understand residents’ needs and priorities and plan for the future.
funding & finances
Moss Bluff Recreation is funded primarily through property tax revenue, along with other applicable sources such as facility rentals, grants, and other revenues.
These funds support the operation and maintenance of District facilities, including staffing, utilities, repairs, equipment, and facility improvements.
Moss Bluff Recreation does not collect, receive, or manage registration fees charged by individual sports leagues.
Registration fees are paid directly to the individual sports leagues, which are responsible for managing their own registration and financial matters.
